cure bad habits

What is a Habit?

A habit is a routine of behavior that is repeated regularly and tends to occur subconsciously.

Stop smoking

For people who really want to give up smoking or vaping. There is a one session ‘stop smoking’, although some people find that it is better spread over two sessions.

My aim is to give you the power and tools to enable you to take control of your smoking addiction.

If you are thinking about stopping smoking – ask yourself ‘Who am I doing this for?’ If the answer isn’t ‘for me’ then maybe now isn’t the right time. Using hypnotherapy for smoking has been found to be the most effective when a person really wants to quit for themselves, not for someone else.

Hypnotherapy can help you by breaking the negative thought and behaviours that are associated with smoking. This might be your ‘first one of the day’ whilst waiting for the kettle to boil or smoking whilst enjoying a drink socially. It is these thoughts and routine that can stop you from breaking the habit.  As hypnotherapy helps you to identify your thoughts so you can change your thought patterns, then the routine can be changed and in a short time amount of time … you are an ex-smoker.

“Hypnotherapy can help by helping you to relax and addressing any anxiety that you may have.”

Nail Biting

It is thought that about 30% of the population bite their nails (Onychophagia.) There are many reasons why people bite their nails: boredom, excitement, habit or feeling stressed and anxious. It may start during childhood or adolescence and this behaviour provides some relief from an external factor which then becomes a habit. This habit can then be hard to give up as other addictive habits such as smoking.

Can hypnotherapy help me?

Hypnotherapy can help by helping you to relax and addressing any anxiety that you may have. Because of the nature of hypnotherapy, it helps your subconscious mind to become more aware of your unwanted behaviour. You become aware so that as you are about to bring your hands to your mouth, you can control your hands and make the choice to stop biting your nails. I can also help you with visualisation, relaxation techniques and aversion techniques if necessary.

Because nail biting is a habit, new neural pathways can replace the old habit and before too long, you can control your nail biting rather than it controlling you.
